Our Adventure Expedition training is open to anybody wishing to prepare for any walking adventure. Whether you are trekking the Kokoda Trail with us or another company, trekking to Everest Base Camp, the famous Overland or Larapinta Trails in Australia or just want to be able to walk to the top of your street, we have the skill, motivation, energy and experience to get you in your best physical condition before you depart.

Our training is unique and extremely enjoyable. We offer a mix between resistance or strength training, mostly concerned with the legs back and core muscles, we lead specific training walks in various locations around Victoria (never more than 90 minutes from Melbourne). These sessions operate on an alternate bi-weekly basis (two per month). The strength sessions are held at our Sandringham training studio and focus on breaking the workout down to working your leg muscles responsible for ascending tracks (climbing hills) and the muscles responsible for descending tracks (going downhill).

Strength and Conditioning

2 – 3 hours training.
Session mainly focusing on strengthening the bodies posterior muscles to aid with power, balance and posture. We specifically focus on the legs, back and core muscles and use a wide range of exercises both in groups and individually that combine your body weight, free weights, power bands (resistance bands) and weighted backpacks (your trekking pack) to specifically condition you to the environment you will encounter on your walk. The location of our studio is sensational for getting the most out of your training, we are right on the stunning Sandringham foreshore wtihin 100m from the beach and all it’s variety. Expect ramps and workouts on the sand to be included in our strength and conditioning routines.

Take Home Training Programs

Upon completion of each strength session you will receive a written program to take home with you so you can repeat the session at your leisure.

Training Walks

Click Here for a timetable of our 2012 Training Walks. Each location is different and has something to offer you. The walks are particularly beneficial to getting used to your trekking gear, such as wearing in your boots and getting used to the weight of your backpack. They are also a tremendous way to get to know other trekkers either from your group or those you have a similar passion as you do. There is no better way to condition yourself to trekking, hiking or walking than by actually doing it. Each of our walking locations is absolutely stunning and well worth the effort.

What If I Have a Personal Trainer Already?

Great! Bring your Personal Trainer along to any of our training walks for FREE! This way your trainer will be able to accompany you in a specific environment to your fitness requirements, and better serve you in their training facility. Personal Trainers are more than welcome and we can assist them greatly in supporting you before you head off on your adventure.

I Don’t Have The Time To Get To All The Training Walks On The Program 

We understand that you may not be able to attend all of our sessions. As such, we break our session price down to $75.00 per session (always over 2 ½ hours) and sell them in blocks of either 3, 5 or 7. In this case you do not have to come along to all training sessions in one go, you can come to any 3, 5 or 7 available from your date of purchase, and of course your first session is always free so you will have a very good idea as to whether you will commit.
